Multi-Layer Microfluidic Kidney
This multilayer microfluidic kidney is not an artificial kidney, rather it is a simple and clever in vitro incubator that produces kidney-like tissue that they have shown to regulate water and ion balance as is the kidneys’ role in vivo. The authors expect to use this system to be able to study kidney physiology and disease and perform drug screens.
