Auckland Microfab
MacDiarmid Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology Conference (AMN4)
A number of the members of PERC that utilize the microfab are presenting at the 2009 AMN4 conference in Dunedin, New Zealand:
Bhuvana Kannan has a poster, “Controlled Growth of Polypyrrole on Microelectrodes and Micro-fabricated, Individually Addressable Arrays.”
Karthik Kannappan also has a poster, “The determination of conditions for wave propagation in a conducting polymer, through modeling.”
Bryon Wright is giving a talk, “Microfabricating conducting polymer microdevices.”
David Williams is presenting a plenary talk on immunoassays, Jadranka Travas-Sejdic is presenting on luminescent carbon nanoparticles, and Paul is presenting on developing nanostructured forms of conducting polymers.
We all just got done listening to Nobel laurette Prof. Harry Kroto, recognised for his role in the discovery of C60, or “buckyballs”. He could as well be recognised for his outreach efforts and animated, interesting presentations. Check out an interesting science outreach site he is organising: http://www.geoset.info/
